Are the metal quick connects drinking water safe? What is the metal type?

Not sure how I lived all these years without these connectors.

This is so much better than leaving your sprayer outside to get beat up by the elements. When I want to use it, I just plug it into the Quick Connect I put on the end of the hose. Also includes several other adapters.

Love how easy these are to use and clip on/off. I absolutely hate how much they leak. The first installation I did with these I did NOT use pipe tape and they leak soooo much. I have another faucet on a different side of the house, I used pipe tape as I figured this would be an easy solution.....maybe it leaks 1% less? It is still awful. Maybe if your water pressure is super low, they won't leak. To note, I only get heavy leakage from the ones connected to spigot, the ones by the handles/sprink…lers leak very little(but still leak).Unfortunately I will keep using these because I love the clipping mechanism. I may try the metal ones to see if they are better.

Tried several brands and I prefer these over the metal ones.

This is a very fine invention. Easy to use and very useful. reduces the need for too many watering hoses.Love it.

On June 19th I got my metal premium set. I was excited to try. Worked great until my connector broke. I thought I was going to be getting all metal pieces since I did order the metal premium set but not all pieces are metal. It is now over 30 days and I can no longer return. I had high hopes for this product but it doesn’t last long. I would recommend trying another product

But never could understand why you would want the other oddball pair (male nipple but with female threads paired with female quick connect with male threads). I want to couple both ends of my hose together to hang. Using that oddball set would make you have to carry around a double ended male piece. Silly.I remove the “Stop” piece from the female couplers. Can’t drain the extra weight/water out of the hoses before I store them if the stop is in place.Anyway, I’m just switching over to Garde…na form some of the pseudo aluminum ones from Home Depot because they corrode after a few months of use and leak like a sieve.
